THE COMPETITION
The Newsdesk: Business Africa competition is open to all students
who complete a news feature. A panel of assessors will identify a shortlist
of 10 features which demonstrate outstanding journalistic flair and a
real understanding of business in Africa. In particular, those features
that show thorough research of the topic with information from a variety
of resources will be credited. A winner will then be selected by the
prestigious judging panel.
How to enter
After completing your broadcast feature, entering the competition is
easy. Simply follow the instructions on the CD Rom and in the student
support information and when you exit the game, email your feature
to editor@newsdeskbusinessafrica.org.
It is important to remember to type up your voiceover script; this
will be reassembled by the judge's console. You will also need to pitch
your feature to the producer – so
include 200 words on why your feature should be broadcast. Finally
make sure you fill out the personal information form including your
contact details.
Rules
There is no limit on the number of features that you may enter to the
competition; you may for example wish to submit a feature on a particular
industry and then submit a different feature on a particular country.
The competition will be judged within different age groups. More details
will follow shortly.
